Post Office: new LED lighting for the offices in Atina and Colli

Since the beginning of the year, the number of interventions on company sites in the province has risen to 25, which will annually save 117,000 kWh of energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 100 tonnes.

The initiatives of Poste Italiane also continue in the province of Frosinone, which will allow the company to achieve the goal of ‘net zero carbon dioxide emissions’ by 2030, as outlined in the ‘2024 Sustain & Innovate’ strategic plan, which places innovation and sustainability at the heart of its strategy. Specifically, in this phase, another 2 post offices in the area, Atina and Colli, were involved in the ‘Led Project’, which involved replacing lighting fixtures with fluorescent lamps with LED technology, in order to facilitate a reduction (about 50%) in electricity consumption and maintenance cost savings due to the longer lifespan of the lighting fixtures.

The program, which is estimated to save approximately 117,000 kWh per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 100 tonnes in the province of Frosinone, has so far involved, with the last two offices of Colli and Atina affected by the replacement of lamps, 25 post offices.

Across Lazio, considering the total interventions of the “Led” project carried out in 2021, an annual saving of 612,400 kWh and a reduction of 527 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions are estimated.

This initiative is in addition to that related to the renewal of the company fleet towards sustainable mobility, with the delivery of “green” vehicles for parcel and correspondence delivery also in the province of Frosinone.
